Hello, please excuse me if this is an extremely naive question or is something that has been asked numerous times on this board, but I am at a complete loss on figuring out a solution to my problem, so your help is much appreciated.
I currently have a collection of home videos on DVD, from which I would like to extract scenes, and then compile onto a "best of" DVD if you will.
So far I'm using DVD Decrypter to get the VOB files to my hard drive. What I don't know is:
* How do I extract scenes from those VOB files?
* How do I create my final DVD with chapters for each scene?
I'm hoping for a method that doesn't sacrifice quality. Your ideas are greatly appreciated.

You can use Videoredo to cut out the scenes you want. It wont sacrifice the quality. Then add all the clips in a dvd authoring tool like tmpgenc dvd author, guifordvdauthor and make a new dvd.
You can also use DVD Shrink to cut directly from the disc and then mix together the vob files, see https://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?guideid=502&howtoselect=3;6#502 -
Thanks alot Baldrick! I am reading your post now, it looks awesome!
