I did a quick Google search for 'dual boot vista and XP' and got a few hits. Seems others are doing it with no major problems, though some of them are using the MS Beta version released a while back. One guide that might give you some hints from that search: http://www.lifehacker.com/software/top/windows-vista-beta-how-to-dual-boot-windows-xp-...sta-179906.php

If not, take a look at some of the others.

When you installed Windows XP it destroyed Vista boot loader. I'm afraid you'll need to reinstall/repair Vista.

(I have Vista, XP and Linux on my computer ... but I installed Vista after XP, and then repaired grub with a live linux cd in order to be able to boot to linux)

    It's easier.

Boot to the Vista DVD and choose Boot Options, then repair Vista boot. It may be called otherwise but those things are there.

Then after a restart you'll find Vista's boot screen to boot to either Windows or Older Version of Windows. Windows is Vista, older version is XP's boot loader which will simply boot XP or provide its menu if you also have another version of Windows (like 9x) installed.
