Due to a DVR mishap, I didn't record this past weekend's ep. Can anyone tell me which episode aired?

  2. Balance of Terror.

I'm going by the ABC Station in Houston, Texas.
Your local affiliate might have aired a diffrent one, I'm not sure.

Unfortunately, I too had a mishap, and have lost that episode.

Otherwise I'd be more than happy to share it with ya.

    EDITED TO ADD:
I see that it re-airs again on Monday, the 25'th at 12:05 am.
At least that's what my Beyond TV on-screen Guide says.

Oh, another strange thing is that I have had to set BTV to record for an additional 45 minutes extra when ever a Star Trek TOS Remastered episodes airs because ABC seems to like to push it back sometimes.
Also, they sometimes they skip a day ~ ie they sometimes don't air them.
It's really weird and can get rather flustrating.

Thanks for the info, but I'm not sure that was the ep that aired locally. Balance Of Terror was the first ep they showed when the new run began. Maybe they showed it again, I don't know.

That episode was on several months ago so they may be repeating for the holidays. At least this time I got it on a channel that has no logo.

    I saw that, yes. Hopefully I didn't miss a first-run episode.

They redigitzed the original series into hd and redid some of the special effects.

    got it!
    I just found this: http://www.startrek.com/startrek/view/news/article/25835.html
    and this: http://www.startrek.com/startrek/view/news/article/25835.html?page=1

I had heard rumors of such a thing a long time ago and thought it sounded damned cool, but...

I watched "Mirror, Mirror" last week and I watched "Friday's Child" this past Saturday.....
I didn't notice anything that was 'enhanced' though.
The special effects were just as cheesy as ever and I didn't notice anything special about the sound either.
Looked like good old ST to me.

No its not the one on TVLAND. You have to watch the one on your syndicated station. For me its my ABC affiliate in town. They air it at 1:30am Sunday morning (late Saturday night).

Edit - oh those were the right ones.

Look again - the ship is new and many effects are "tweaked". They aren't the full redo that Star Wars got. They were meant to be settle.

    do you mean subtle?
maybe I would be able to appreciate them better if I wasn't watching on a 19" p.o.s. from 15 feet away while drifting in & out of conciousness....(10PM is past my bed-time now that I'm officially an "old fart")
This week I'll check it out downstairs on the 36" HD set!

I'm confused. What exactly is "syndicated", in terms of tv channels ??
ST-TOS only air's on TVLD here in New York, around 11pm or 12pm.

I too, didn't notice much. But then again, I wasn't really paying attention,
and I too, sit pretty far from my tv set, though it is a 20" 'cher.

When Sci-Fi had them on, (back when I had satellite) I thought the quality
was good, very good. It also had clean telecine that you could ivtc back
to 24p. And the picture was clean, not mpeg artifact, considering that
at the time, they were starving is of this bitrate. ST-TOS was always in
good broadcasting quality. Now, with my (SnP) analog cable, its not so
good, but then, just as good
