  1. Hi Gang

I am using Nero 6, and when I go to burn a movie, depending on its length but normally it sets the compression at 1600 or so. I usually burn them closer to the limit of the disc, seems to be a little better picture quality. Is there any way to change the compression on Nero. I have looked I think into all the areas cant find any thing that say compression settings.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.....Gunny

Are you using Nerovision express and converting to DVD? or what exactly?
1600? Where do you set that?
    What is your video source?

If you want control over what you convert use a standalone dvd encoder instead, https://www.videohelp.com/tools?s=40#40

  3. Hi Baldrick

When I burn a movie using DVDFab, Shrink and DVD decrypter I have control over the compression, but when I get a movie using the Tivo that is where I am having the problem I use Nero Express, and there is a scale down below that shows the length/size of the burn. I have clicked on everything looking for some way to change the compression, no luck. It is like it has an automatic setting for the compression.

    Thanks...............Gunny

  4. Hi Again

I think I just found the answer to my own question, really dumb. I was using multisession, so naturally it cut the size of the movie down thinking I wanted to put several episodes on a DVD disc. At least this is what I am thinking I will make the change and see how it comes out, makes sense to me. I have seen this before and never gave it a thought, cause it automatically goes there.

    Thanks..............Gunny
