  1. Hi,

I've recorded a TV show but the disc on which I record was quite old and scrateched with some fingerprints

So tried to copy the dvd with dvd decrypter and I got a lot of "Unrecovered read error" and "no seek complete" but I have all the vobs on my HDD.

Now, I can open this dvd into tmpg mpeg editor to cut out commercials and unwanted stuff.
The when I try to export the file, tmpg mpeg editor freeze when it reached the part wich was marked as "Unrecovered read error" and "no seek complete".

So is there a tool that can fix and repair mpeg-2 files ??

    Thanks

You could try reading the disc with ISOBuster. It often has better luck with damaged discs.

This article might of interest to you:
    http://www.digital-digest.com/~blutach/pgcedit_guide/burning_with_pgcedit/burning_with...pgcedit_v2.htm
It talks about how if you allow Nero, DVDShrink and possibly other tools burn your DVDs, you may at some point have DVDs that you can't watch because the BUP and IFO will be in the same bad sector

I recommend for ALL DVD video burning (unless you really don't care if one day you can't watch it at all) that you use PgcEdit to make ISO files and burn with ImgBurn. This is described in the article above.
