Ok i've switched from WINAVI becuase of sync problems and everyone raves about ConvertXtoDVD so i checked it out. it seems to go great. but there are interlacing lines all over the file. Not just in Media players, but VLC and Power DVD too. I burned it just to see and the show up even worse on TV.

What's up? How do you get rid of the interlacing lines?

it is an MPEG-2 capture that i took from Dazzle Digital Video Creator. I'm converting old Disney VHS to DVDs.

That Dazzle captures them as MPEG-2 and i had been using WINAVI to convert to DVD (Video_TS). but wanting to find something better. this same files converts and looks great in WINAVI only the audio is out of sync slightly. so what's the deal with ConvertXtoDVD?

Why don't you ask their support staff ? Maybe send them a sample of the input and output video ?

That said, if you capture DVD compliant mpeg 2 to begin with, you don't need to use ConvertXtoDVD. Just author with GUIForDVDAuthor or some other authoring tool.

  5. Agreed,
I have been using CX2DVD for quite some time now [creidit of recommendations of this wonderful sw goes to Mats] but to convert only AVI files and there have been not a single issue.

To author MPEG2 you can also use TMPGEnc DVD re author tool or just TMPGEnc Plus or Express, all these work like charm
