I am giving my Canon 8mm camcorder to my brother in law. He has no computer savy at all and no computer. (He is in Central America where such technology is nonexistant.) What is the easiest way to explain to my brother in law how to convert a 8MM tape a) to a VCR cassette? b) to a DVD?
Should he plug the 8MM camcorder to the front of a VCR recorder? Is it possible to plug the 8MM camcorder to the front of a DVD recorder?
Thank you
bryan kendall

Front or back is irrelevant. He should plug the camcorder output audio/video cables into the Video Input jacks on whichever device he uses, VCR or DVD recorder. Whether or not these are on the front or back depends on the model. But yes, the broad outline of what you say will work just fine for straight transfers.Originally Posted by bryankendall
