OK heres the deal, I use DVD Shrink,Ripit4me, imageburn, and dvd decreptor. I have used tried almost everything and the final burnt DVD will play on any dvd player but when played on my computer it is jumpy and seems slow. I have a sony dvd player I also tried it on and it worked fine. COuld this be a media issue???? I was suprised to see that it worked on the home theater sony player as they are usually fussy. I have a sony dvd+-rw drive on the computer and it will not play them??

From what you describe, it doesn't seem like a media issue, but there's no simple way to check except to try some different media. But if they play fine on all your players, that's good.
It seems a fairly common problem that even the DVD burner that made the DVD can't play it back. I don't have a simple solution.
You could check your DVD drive to see if it reverted to PIO mode, but if so, you would have slow burns, besides slow playback. Have you tried playing it on another computer DVD drive? That might isolate the problem.
Maybe others have some better solutions.
And welcome to our forums. -
My first guess would be a codec issue. What software are you using to playback the discs?

I have tried using Windows Media Player, Media Center, and Power DVD. I am trying some different disks right now just to make sure it is not a media problem.
Thanks for all your help so far!

One way to check for a codec problem is to use a freeware player like VLC Media Player. It uses it's own codecs, so it isn't dependent on the system codecs.
Since Windows doesn't come with a MPEG-2 codec, you are likely using the one that Power DVD installed, for WMP and Media Center. That should work fine. But if VLC works properly for playback, then it may indicate there is a problem with it.
And be sure to check the DVD drive mode in Device Manager, just in case, so you can rule that out. -
Try this I think you have the same problem I have where when you stripped the DVD.
Tell us if it helps
