I have some mpg files (approx 200mb for a 20min show).
What utility can I use to cut that file size in half?
I have some other episodes and they vary from 50 - 100 megs for the same amount of time.

Look at your left MENU under HOW TO / EDIT
you will find your answer
As I remember the procedure below:
Open TMPGnc click Files/Mpeg tool /Merge & cut
Add the original file in (ex. drive:\path\full.mpg)
select output file (ex. drive:\path\part1.mpg
click Edit
(Play the movie then pause then drag the pointer back and forth first to correct the bug in TMPGnc)
Drag pointer to where you want to begin . Mark start point
Drag pointer to where you want to end . Mark end point
click OK
click Run to generate part1.mpg (this take a while depend on the size of your file and where you start. So wait for completion)
Then try again with different output
select output file (ex. drive:\path\part2.mpg) for the next one
and repeat again.
Hope this help you.
