Perfect DVD to WMV copies?

I've been looking for DVD to WMV software that produces perfect, or near perfect DVD quality rips. So far, I've tried a few different programs, and after about 5 hours of ripping I end up with grainy picture and sometimes out of synch sound...

So, does anybody know of a good DVD to WMV program? Any help would be appreciated!

I don't know of any one program that does it. I prefer to extract to MPEG using VOB2MPG, convert to DV-AVI using virtualdub and then convert to WMV using WMM or WME.

encode the audio seperately do all the same things you would do w/ an avi w/ the exception of encoding as avi.. if you've messed around any w/ 3GP Converter it has the ability to take an avisyth script and convert it out to a wmv so just use the same basis for it.

Kind of in the same boat. Have DVD that I need to ultimately get as an .AVI (needing to edit). Can't be xvid or divx...need the uncompressed avi. The very end result after editing is going on web - either with WME as WMV or in Flash. I would take the VOB straight into Vdub mpeg and save out as AVI but due to the ac3, it's way out of sync and messed up.

Technically No, because DV-AVI is not uncompressed AVI - it's compressed 5:1 IIRC. However, there would be nothing stopping you saving to uncompressed instead of DV-AVI when using virtualdub. I am yet to find a circumstance where the DV-AVI was not "good enough" and I needed uncompressed (or losslessy compressed).

Try 123 DVD Converter it's a great program - just remember to change the few settings
