  1. hi

I got a video file in MKV format, its over 3GIG, when i try to extract(lossless) to AVI, it only extract 1.7GIG. I use AVI-MUX GUI. I also try Extract it in VirtualDub Mod, during it open the file, it still open only 1.7gig of data.

Can any help me how to extract the entire MKV to AVI so i can convert it to DVD?

    thanks, i need this asap.

Try using MKVExtractGUI (make sure you install the underlying MKVtoolnix) to demux the MKV to its component parts, then work with those. VirtualDubMod's MKV support is old/deprecated and not recommended (I believe it can't handle AVC/H.264 in an MKV properly, for example; someone will correct me if I'm wrong. ). I wasn't aware AVI-Mux GUI could handle MKVs...

  4. i have install all the tool you mentioned, but it still output 1.7 and say complete.

is there any tool out there that allow covert MKV to AVI and ignore the corrupt/glitch frame?

Or any tool allow to cut the corrupt glitch frame? Virtuadub mod doesn't work because it parse the file and only accept the first 1.7gig.

If it plays back ok via dshow (other than the glitch) then you can convert via dshow. Could also try mencoder.

Right. If it doesn't automatically skip the glitch, then that won't work either.

  8. i got a solution, i use river past video cleaner pro and able to demux (use less re-encode if possible option) and able to cut out the glitch(1). Then open(1) it in virtualdub mod and save a direct stream copy in order to play back in Media Player. Then I can use TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress to make it to DVD.

Man.... it take me all day to finally have a working solution.

    thanks for all the input...^_@
