Is CCE Basic worth buying ? If you are generally going to use it only with DVD Rebuilder, and only occasionally, probably not. HCEnc can also be used with DVD Rebuilder, does a damn fine job, according to some, rivals and even betters CCE at low bitrates, and it is free. In fact, it ships as part of the DVD Rebuilder full install. If you want to spend a little cash, I would suggest you buy DVD Rebuilder Pro instead.

Personally, I find that Shrink (actually, any transcoder - this is not a Shrink specific issue) reduces the quality too much for such a large reduction. For episodic discs of that size I would either split them across two discs, and probably not need to reduce the size at all, or use DVD Rebuilder and encode at half-D1.
