I used to use my Hauppange to capture with Intervideo DVDRecorder. Had some probs so had to reformat and install everything from scratch.
I have captured a mpeg file which plays fine in Media pLayer.
I have two issues:
One: If I try and edit it in Womble as I used to, then the file always fails in Media Player right at the end.
Two: So, as in a rush, I have used the raw file in DVDLab-PRO (V 1.0) and then cut it into chapters and use a chapter playlist to pick out the bits I don't want.
Problem is when I encode and play back, the audio does not work.
Any assistance or advice received.
GSpot says I have the video and audio codecs loaded.
Thanks
Jub

OK, I checked two of the five VOBs and first one looks like no audio:
But on the other VOBs:
Neither play any sound:
Any ideas? -
A couple of observations and things to try
1. DLP 1.0 is very old. If you are in fact using 1.0, I would upgrade to 1.6x, which you can download from the Mediachance website. It fixes many bugs, and is a good, stable release.
2. Always demux your assets and give DLP elementary streams. If you load an mpg file and DLP asks if you want to demux, say yes and let it do it. It seems to work best with elementary streams.
3. The video in the two VOBs appears to be different - do you have multiple titles in this DVD ? If so, check to make sure you have audio assets loaded for every title. Also, if this is a single VTS title, the audio must be the same format in the same track for each title in the set.
4. try using VLC or PowerDVD or similar to load VTS_01_4.VOB to see if you get any audio from this VOB. You should, as g-spot shows it being there.Read my blog here.

Thanks for the comments, so:
1. Good point, when I checked back to my backup disks, I had a version 1.53, which I guess was what I was using before. I have upgraded to that version and re-compiled and burnt again, but no sounds still.
2. Hauppange creates .mpeg files. I am getting DVD-Lab to demux them to elementary streams. I have also treid TMPGEnc to demux to two streams, but no better.
3. Yes, there are 5 seperate videos in the DVD. All recorded in the same way.
4. Interesting! When I have installed VLC and opened the VOB with that as you suggested, the sound works fine. Also if I play the whole disk with VLC it seems to work OK.
I thought it could be the DVD-Lab burner, but I've never had any probs before and it DOES work in VLC from the disk...
(thanks for the continuing help by the way, getting there.....) -
It DOES say other. But as far as I know there is no other audio stream. I have created a new "Movie" and dragged into the mpv and the mpa created by the demux process, nothing more.
I don't know what this other is? Maybe something to do with the menus (there are 2) or link info??
