  1. I just got a core2 Duo processor and I am in the process of ripping my DVDs to iPod format. I have Nero Recode and Videora, but both applications seem to have their drawbacks. I want an app to take full advantage of the CPU. Nero only shows 60 percent of the system being used and Videora only uses 1 processor. Anyone have some suggestions so that I can utilize my processor?

    Vegas 7 utilizes both cores.

    Dual core usage probably depends more on the codec itself, than the application that uses it. You could try SUPER, but it may have the same limitation.

    you can also use some of the latest builds of x264. It has always supported multithreading, just now the threads are coded to be faster by using Pthreads instead of w32threads.

    Megui is a nice gui for x264. I recommend it if you are curious.
