Hi to all on here, being new and my first post.
Currently I have a Denon DVD-900 player but as I have purchased an XBOX 360... I was wondering if MIcrfosoft's HD DVD would play better on the DVD side than the Denon. At this time I think the Denon plays great...but being that the Microsofts HD DVD is so inexpensive and has the option of playing HD DVDs besides...would it be better than this 4 year old Denon on the DVD side? ...which I paid $400 at that time for versus $200 for Microsofts now?....thanks Marc.

I haven't seen this unit reviewed by any reputable video/home theatre sites for dvd use. I have read that the HD DVD quality is comparable to what else is available at the moment, but that doesn't mean standard DVD is good or bad.
Regardless of playback quality, if you really want/need a HD DVD player and don't mind using a game console for all of your DVD playback, go ahead and get it. If it's not as good as your Denon (which I expect it isn't), you can just use both. You will still have it for HD DVD use. (Which can also be attached to your pc).Google is your Friend
