    Hello

I have Sony DCR-HC36E. For some time camera was working fine when I connected trough IEEE 1394 port. Now PC can not recognize the camera. I tried trugh my PCMCIA on laptop. NOTHING. I bought new IEEE1394 card for my desktop. NOTHING. When I connect it display on my camera shows iLINK logo, but PC can not see it.

I am affraid that 6-4 pin cable burned by IEEE1394 port on camara. Is this possible? I red in on some forums.

    Any suggestion welcome please!

My Sony manual on my HC3 says to connect the i.link wire to the computer first, turn on the camera, then connect it to the camera - to avoid static shock to the camera that may damage it.

So yea, I guess it could happen.. lol

    Good luck.

    Thanks,

Well now I have new strategy. On many forums I red different solutions.

    1. Remove momory card (I never tried it) while connecting to PC
    2. That HC3 is not working with WinXP SP2 (I always tried at WinXP SP2)
    3. I ordered 4-4 pin, new PCMCIA with just 4 pin IEEE1394.
