If your MPEG files are DVD compliant, you need to 'author' them. This will convert them to the DVD format. See 'WHAT IS' DVD to the upper left for the DVD specification to see if they are compliant. Then all you need to do is burn them to a DVD disc. The freeware ImgBurn is good for this.

For authoring, TMPGEnc DVD Author is popular for this, or you can try the freeware GUI for dvdauthor. There are other authoring programs available in 'Tools' to the left. There are also guides for this process in 'AUTHOR', again to the left.

    And welcome to our forums.

    Are they DVD compliant ?

Open them in g-spot and compare the resolution and framerates with those discussed in What is DVD (top left corner of this page).

If they are, all you need to do is author them. Plenty of tools and guides in the menus to your left <-

If they are not then you need to re-encode them so that they are compliant, then author.

Some DVD players will play mpeg files from a data disc. You can test this by burning the mpeg files as data. This may not work in all players.

If you have never used one of these tools, you just need to install one and try it out! You should find them easy to use - drag your MPEGs into the program, preview your DVD menu, make sure it looks ok, and BURN!

If the MPEGs are DVD compliant you should be able to avoid some processing time. I know that in Nero you need to tell it not to re-encode the compliant files.

And even then there is a 50-50 chance that Nero will re-encode anyway.
