If you use Nero Burning ROM, you have no doubt noticed that it shows a static speed once the disc starts, and it never changes.
I found this little registry tweak a few years ago that changes it to show real-time burning speed![]()
I didn't write this. The guy who did seems like a tard, but it's a good tip, and if you can decipher what he's saying, it's definitely worth doing 8)
You'll probably need to create the DWORD key "ShowSingleRecorderSpeed". As far as I know, this works on all versions of Nero so farHi just came apon dis info about showin you the actual write speed (instead of the speed you selected) witin NeroT![]()
Wot you need to do is:>
Start Regedit via 'Start, Run, Regedit'. The Registry Editor will be started. Now go to 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ahead\Nero - Burning Rom\Recorder':
Once deah (there) double click or open onto dat folder (Recorder)![]()
Next search for the DWORD 'ShowSingleRecorderSpeed' and right click or double click on it and select 'Modify'
Now change de the value 0 zero to 1 in de (Value data) remember de value was 0 zero just incase it does not work for you so you can always change back later!. Press ok.
Close registry might B a good idea to reboot pc at dis stage.
Once pc up and runnin select NeroT DO your business wit it and watch out for de real time burnin speed Now!![]()

Thanks, Capmaster. I hope you don't mind, but here's a translation from his 'dorkspeak' for the rest of us
:
Always back up your registry before making any changes. You have been warned.
This registry tweak will show the actual write speed (Instead of just the speed you selected) within Nero. What you need to do is:
Start regedit via 'Start, Run, regedit'. The Registry Editor will be started.
Now go to 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ahead\Nero - Burning Rom\Recorder':
Once there, left click on 'Recorder'.
Next create a new DWORD by right clicking on a blank spot on the page and selecting a new 'DWORD Value'. Replace the 'New Value #1' with 'ShowSingleRecorderSpeed' in the box, then right click on it and select 'Modify'. Change the value 0 (zero) to 1 (one) in the 'Value data'. If this tweak does not work for you, you can always change it back to 0 later to disable it. Press OK.
Close the registry. It might be a good idea to reboot the PC at this stage, but it seems to work OK without a reboot. Try burning with Nero and see if it's working.
I tried it on Nero 6.6.0.13 and it works great. Thanks. -
Thanks redwudz
I should have "translated" it before posting it
