I updated the Xvid codec - but I do not know if this is the problem. I have tried the operation a few times.

    1. What usually causes this problem when using my process? codecs? busy processor?
    2. I tried AVI.net also and the synch was even worse.
    3. Is it possible that the problem is my playback? That the files are fine. I playback with WMP and I tried the DIVX player but it looked horrible (I think that's a whole other issue).

The files are about and hour long and the sync problem is minimal.

Now I am getting into Capture territory, but I just put a VHS tape in and I am noticing that the sound is playing back a little out of synch. Is this pure coincidence? Did something happen to my computer!

    What's going on here?
