  3. Firstly, people are not going to hand you your answer on a silver platter. This is a public forum, not your personal help desk.

You should first do some basic research before asking a question -- e.g., search this site or read some guides.

Furthermore, think before you ask your question. If you question is too vague or you don't provide enough details, no one can help you.

For your particular problem, it is most likely you've got a setting wrong somewhere. Follow the guides on this site or the guides at doom9.net explicitly.

  4. You may want to take a little easy on the guys asking the questions, number one, the search feature for the Forum is not working, finding something on this site is not as easy a you think it is. We all did not wake one morning and say "Now i'm an Expert in VCD" like many of the Moderator's on this site, We all start somewhere and a little assistance is valued. Just some off the cuff comments from "Newbie"

  5. If you want help, then have a little bit of initiative. I get annoyed at people who ask a vague question and then get an attitude when inevitably nobody posts a reply.

Many people assist "newbies" on this site and of course everyone starts somewhere. However, none of us are psychic and this isn't a charity. If you ask a question like the one on the top of this thread, the most likely response from anyone is "next".

  6. While I agree with you for the most part, I just think the language was a bit rough, if you look at the time lines on the post the guy waited two days, now that may not be much for most people, but when you are tyring to solve a problem two days is a life time. I know I'm still waiting for answers from two weeks ago. Now I don't expect answers on the spot but if you scan through newbie forum post, you will notice that depending on the question, responses tend to go first the more technical type questions.
