  1. Hello,

Anyone has any experience with 1.3GB cd-r's?
Are DD CD-RW media fully compatible with VCD, xVCD
    SVCD etc?

  2. You can certainly burn one. I'd be surprised if many players will play them.... I'm going to try a few players this week, but I'm not holding my breath (I mostly bought it because it was cheap (refurbished for $70), and it's good for backing stuff up (plus it's faster than my other burner). If anything works, I'll post to the forum.

  3. It will not work for VCD/SVCD or audio CDs.

As far as I understand, the double density discs are burnt is a form of packet writing.

That is, it completely precludes using tracks, etc., which means that creating a S/VCD or CD-DA is impossible.

  4. Hi Mike Tam,

Maybe someone had been asking this question, but I have this problem: I created a SVCD clip using TMPGEnc v2.02 (CBR22100, 198Audio1, 198Audio2). The final clip (mpg) looks really good on the PC (powerDVD v4.0). But after I burned it to CD (with Nero 5.5.0.3 OEM), with high motion scenes, they look so distort.

I'm thinking of create the clip into .cue/.bin file before burning. Do you think this will help? (I'm in the process of getting help files and utilities to do this).

Thanks in advance for your advice.

  5. It's hard to say whether or not it will help... What do you mean by "distorted"??

Also, you may want to start a separate thread as this doesn't really have anything to do with the Sony DD CD-RW drive.

    Regards.
