    Hi everybody!

I got 3 HD movies, one .wmv movie i 720p (4,3gb), one .wmv file i 720p (4,5gb) and one transport stream (.ts) file 1080i (6,5gb). Everyone of those I need to split so they can work on a fat32 formated disc (supports max 4gb file each) and the .ts and .mkv file would I like to be converted to either.wmv or .mpeg(1 or 2) so I could play it on an xbox 360. I don't want to loose the good quality of the videos or the HD resolution. I rather not reconvert the .wmv files just split them.

I have searched and tryed many programs on those videos but no go. For.wmv files I always use Movica to split them (since it keeps the HD) but it seems to have a problem with just those videos... For the other I have not found a good program yet.

The error I get in movica is the same for both files: "Second path fragment must not be a drive or UNC name. Parameter name: Path 2".

    Thanks in Advance!

Tversity and stream them directly to your xbox360.

A ts file is already in mpeg2 format. You can use hdtv2mpeg2 to make it a mpg file and also cut it.

If you prefer to convert them try windows media encoder or windows movie maker or wmnicenc. create an avisynth script for reading and then import it, see https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=314813&highlight=

Try cut with asfbin but movica is based on it....maybe hd resolutions aren't supported yet.

Or just get a real HTPC instead!!! No conversions..

I know how to stream but I want to be able to watch them without having to turn on my PC everytime. I acctually have a htpc :P but it's in a diffrent room

I tried hdtv2mpeg2 with the .ts file a few days ago but somehow It just spitted out two blank 4minutes .mpeg files, don't ask me why... Well, i'm gonna try it again now, maybe a did something wrong. But if it's the same format, shoulden just renaming .ts to .mpg work?

btw. sorry for the typo about a file being in .mkv in the first post.

Just stop turn off the PC...

.ts and .mpg are not exactly the same containers but it might work to rename. hdtv2mpeg2 works fine here but the source might be corrupt even if it is playable. You can also try TSSplitter, videoredo.

I've had some success fixing corrupted HDTV TS/MPEG files with a program called ProjectX but please don't ask me how to use it ... I can barely make it function myself LOL

However it does seem to work IF the problem is some sort of corruption and not something else (like user error).

I tried projectX but it gave me an "out of video memory error" but now I have splitted the ts files so I'm gonna give it a go when I get home. I'm also gonna try cut assistant with the wmv files to see if it works. If you guys got any other tips on wmv editing programs please tell since cut assistant might not work...

Mpeg2repair works pretty well with transport stream files. Same with MpegStreamclip

WMV- Depends how comfortable you are with the command line.

It seems as every program that builds of AsfBin have failed, but when I tried to original version I finally managed to cut the .wmv files.

So now 2 out of 3 videos are done!

I'm gonna try the programs you suggested, but I'm later gonna need to convert them from mpg to wmv. What should I use? Please suggest one that supports AC3. Thanks everybody!

EDIT: I just tried WinFF and it encodingworked fine, but the file wouldn't play on my xbox. Also, I would it doesn't support AC3. Any tips?

All I want is a .ts or .mpg -> .wmv converter with HD (1080i), same bitrate, and AC3. If someone know, please tell, I'm dieing to know :P
