    Hi guys!

I want to hook my laptop up to my television, so I can watch some videos from my computer on my TV.

I have no idea what to do for this -- eek!

Do I just need an S-Video cord to hook up from my PC to the TV ?

If anyone could help, that'd be great

    Thanks.

What type of outputs does your laptop have?

Some will have only a computer monitor type output and some will have that as well as a regular video type output.

But not all are the same.

So you need to look and tell us what you got.

A model number of your computer and more importantly a link to a support page for it will help so we can look it up but still in the end you have to look at the back and see what type of outputs you have.

Display Properties - Settings - Advanced

Read you manual because laptops differ from here out. Older laptops replicate the desktop (windowed). Newer desktops treat S-Video as a second monitor under dual monitor mode.

Well according to that DELL website your laptop has an ATI chipset with TV out ... probably a S-Video connector that I bet came with an adapter to make it composite video if needed.

In fact here is a link for you:
    http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins600m/en/index.htm

Go there and scroll down until you see a big blue text heading that says PDF Documents and under that is a download link for the OWNER'S MANUAL for your Dell Inspiron 600m.

Open up the PDF file and go to page 50.
