I have a non-HD 4.3GB .ts file captured using CapDVHS that I converted to a 4.5 mpeg file using HDTVtoMPEG. I then used ReJig File Mode to create a 3.9GB .m2v and a 196MB .ac3 file. Then I went to the DVD Author tab in ReJig..entered in the .m2V and .ac3 files and the resulting VOB file in the VIDEO_TS folder is only 700MB and is roughly 20 minutes of my over 2 hour show. I've done this on a couple different computers to verify it wasn't hardware related.

Any ideas why I'm not ending up with three or four 1GB VOB files?

Try author with something else like Muxman instead and see if you get same problem.

OK...I download Muxman and tried to pull in my .m2V, but it "rejected" the file. When first opening Muxman it doesn't list anything under the video section. After the file is rejected, it lists "NTSC 720x480 MPEG-1 4:3". My original .ts file was 528x480...so maybe it's not supported in Muxman? I looked around but didn't find a good guide for Muxman...if there is one, please post the link. Thanks.

  4. MuxMan supports 'real' DVD material only (no 528x480 resolution). There is probably something wrong with either the m2v or the ac3 file. There are some programs which you could try to solve this problem: Restream, projectx or videoredo. Another possibiltity is using another multiplexer: Imago or bbmpeg or mplex (but as ReJig uses mplex itself internally, this will probably fail too). If one of these multiplexers is able to multiplex the whole file(s), you can use dvdauthor (with one of the GUIs: dvdauthorgui, dvdstyler or GUI for dvdauthor) to finalize the DVD.

Either patch it to fake the resolution, or use DLP to author. If you turn of the compliance checks you will get a warning that the disc may not play in all players, but it will author as a non-compliant DVD.
