    Can't play WMV files in Zoom player, VLC nor Windows Media Player ("specified module could not be found"). Appreciate any help 8)

    VLC uses its own internal codecs when playing videos, so if it can't play the WMVs, I'd say there could be something wrong with the videos, they have DRM, or it's in one of the Windows Media formats that may still not be supported well by VLC (though I don't know how well it supports WMV3/9 at the moment; it may be better than I know.)

    If you can load (but not play) the WMVs in VLC, can you call up the information window? Maybe some more information about the videos might provide a clue. I'd suggest GSpot/MediaInfo as well, but I don't know how well those support WMVs, either. (If you post any of the information here, blank out the path/filenames, if you prefer.)
    If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?

  4. Install this; http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Codec_Installation_Package_for_Windows_Media_Player_7_8_9_10.htm and see if that helps. That is official Microsoft codec package.
