    Hi all,

I found loads of information about coverting any format to DVD. I have roughly 2,5 hours of material filmed on miniDV and oprimally I'd want all of that on one DVD. Probably not possible, since I wouldn't want to loose too much of the quality either. I have Adobe Premier and Pinnacle Studio (and some other sw) at my disposal, but the problem is I don't know in which format I want to capture the film from miniDV's for optimal conversion to DVD. Can anyone help? If there is a tutoria for this, and I just didn't find it, the link would be more than appreciated!
Otherwise, if someone could introduce a few alternatives and their pros and cons, that would get me started.

Thanks for your time and help!

Transfer in DV format over IEEE-1394. The result is first generation quality on the hard drive. Use DV format project settings. Edit that and then encode to MPeg2 for DVD @

    9500+ Kb/s for ~1hr highest DVD quality
6500 Kb/s for ~90 min at medium quality

Forget 2.5 hrs if you want quality, 3800 VBR of you don't care. Or use dual layer DVD-9 and 7000 Kb/s for medium quality 2.5 hr.
