I downloaded a movie file. It is in iso format. it is over 4 gb.
When the extraction reachs 100%, there is a popup that reads "write error in the file
________ iso. probably the disk is full". When i try using winrar again, it then said
"write error, only ntfs file system supports files larger than 4 gb". I directed the extraction to D drive and there is plenty of space.

Now, i was told that i needed to extract my D drive to ntfs. But with only win98 as my operational system, i can't do it.

Now, i friend told me that nero or maybe another program can burn the iso file directly and it will play on a dvd?? Is that possible. If so, then i don't need to extract the iso file. Anyone know how??? (please be specific).

    Any help would be apprecatied.
    thanks

Nero can burn ISOs, as can imgburn 2. Daemontools will allow you to mount the ISO as if it were a drive so you can see what's inside it, and install from it

No need to extract it from the ISO if you just want to burn it to DVD and all the required files are there.

If it's a .rar and in parts, I'm not sure how to extract it to smaller than 4GB parts? But that is likely a common problem, so there should be a way. A problem with W98 is the FAT32 file system. It doesn't allow filesizes over 4GB. That's not usually a problem with a regular DVD as they are broken up into 1GB parts.

But, Nero should be able to burn the ISO, using 'Burn Image' under the 'Recorder' tab. A better program might be the freeware program ImgBurn.

    And welcome to our forums.
