    Hi guys.

I found this USB Hub on Craigslist, but the guy selling it doesn't know much about it.

Has anyone ever seen it before? Is it a USB 2.0?

Any help would be appreciated, but if ya don't know - no big deal!

    Thanks guys.

Its neither and yet both ... then it comes down to who the heck made it ... some are not only rubbish , but dangerous and can cause system problems .

On it's own it dosent do anything ... it's just a usb quad port adapter ... works with usb1.1 and usb2 ... just increase's the number of usb ports on your pc system ... sometime's , depending on the length of the cable extension , they come in handy .

A note : You should check the current requirements of devices you connect to these adapters , and os required .

Most pc's usb deliver a maximum of 1 amp , this is shared by ALL usb connection's on the pc ... exceed this and the system can not only crash ... but under xp , if a warning similar to "usb reset due to overload" ... you will have numerous issue's .

Damage to the usb subsystem effects agp voltage ... onboard will be fine , but addon card will overheat eventually .
If you use usb2 capture device ... the capture ability will have degraded ... and the option here is to replace the motherboard .

In such case ... I recommend the "self powered" usb hub supplied by belkin be used to interface between such device's which delivers a maximum of 2 amps , thus taking any strain off the pc usb's power system .

This device comes with it's own power supply adapter .

Just giving you some advice from experience .

Golden rule to always follow :

If the seller dose not know much about what they are selling ... put your money in your pocket , and go else where .
