Hi
I run on my computer DVD (from the dvd drive) with microsoft media player. this DVD has close cuptions only I downloaded subtitles in srt format. How do I run the dvd and read the subtitle from the srt file?
I use Vobsub and I don't want to copy the dvd to my computer.

You can also do this with SubtitleCreator (Help->Manual for instructions).

Hi-
To have the subtitle play 30 seconds earlier, open the IDX in Notepad and add this just above the first timestamp:
delay: -00:00:30:00
If you want it to play later, remove the minus sign. Now, that works with DirectVobSub, but I don't know for sure that it works when using DVDSubber (having never used it). If not, and if a negative 30 second delay is correct, then open the IDX in Sub Resynch (comes in the VobSub package), and then save it as a new IDX. That will erase the typed in delay and change all the timestamps. -
Srt, not vobsubs though. You could use something like Subtitle Workshop to delay the subs.
Media Player Classic I believe can also play DVD's with external subs. Should also be able to delay them. -
If you are using SubtitleCreator to preview your subs, you can also add the delay needed and check the result immediately.
