im using adobe 1.5 and i cant seem to import my files ripped with dvdshrink......
can anybody tell me how to do it or what im doing wrong?

Patience, grasshopper. This is forum, not a chatroom. It is polite to wait at least 24 hours before bumping your own topic.
It could be the way it was ripped. Shrink is an adequate ripper, but hasn't been updated in a long time. If the disc was a recent release, anything Shrink produces could be damaged. Running it through FixVTS might help.
Secondly, real authoring tools (of which Encore thinks it is one) generally done work well with VOBs, as professionals generally don't work with VOBs. The VOB container format is designed purely for DVD playback. It may contain multiple audio and video tracks, subtitles and other sub-picture streams, as well as navigation makers etc. Try using VOB2MPG to extract the actual video and audio content, and using this to author instead.Read my blog here.
