Hi,
I can't choose the writing speed 2.4x, it's not even listed only 4x up to 16x
I use Nero 6.6.0.18 and Verbatim 16x MCC-004-00 ID, LG DVDRAM GSA-4163B multispeed 2.4 and up to 16x with the latest firmware A105.
Anyone?

Sounds like the media won't work at 2.4 speed, only at minimum 4x
Try this, remove the disc, start the burning software. See if the 2.4x option is available, select then. Start the burning. Then insert the media when it ask for a blank disc. If the software spits it out or switch to higher speed, the media is defiantly not 2.4x compatible. -
Probably a dumb question, but why in the world would you want to burn a 16X disc at 2.4? Most newer burners don't allow those low speeds with newer media as the burner doesn't work very well using them. It would have to lower the laser power down below what is optimal. This will likely cause burning problems. If you really want to burn that slow, get a older burner and some 4X discs, if you can find them.
If the media is so low a quality as to not burn properly at close to full speed, maybe you should try better media.
You also might try a different burning program if you are having problems with results from Nero. ImgBurn will burn ISOs or VIDEO_TS files to a DVD.
And welcome to our forums.
