Hello. When I make subtitles with MaestroSBT using ssa files, the timing in those files gets changed. Subs start too early, too late, subtitles get shortened (0,15 seconds from 0,50 or below 1 second) and it also creates in between subtitles which aren't in the original file.

Settings: Timing 23.976 in and out. No other setting works. The sub gets shorter or longer.

    1 example:
    In original file:
    Sub 1: 9:29.99
    Sub 2: 9:30.86
    Sub 3: 9:32.13
    Sub 4: 9:33.70
    Sub 5: 9:35.20
    Sub 6: 9:36.27-9:37.77

All subs go into each other.

    DVDmaestroSBT:

    Sub 1: 9:30.00-9:30.19
    Sub 2: 9:30.20-9:32.02
    Sub 3: 9:32.03-9:33.16
    Sub 4: 9:33.17-9:35.03
    Sub 5: 9:35.04-9:36.05
    Sub 6: 9:36.06-9:37.17

Note how subtitle 1 is only .20 seconds long.

    It won't show.

Sub 2 begins too early as does sub 4. Sub 6 begins and ends too early.

Can anyone tell me how to avoid these problems?

I need to use the SSA positioning to create nice subtitles.
    Thank you.

Actually, your first list is showing times as minuteseconds.decimals, while the second uses minuteseconds.frames. So, subtitle 1 isn't 0.2 seconds long, it's 20 frames long. If that's 23.976fps as you said, that would be about 0.834 seconds. The displacement of the starting times may have to do with the subtitles being "snapped" to the frame times. Which is logical, as the subtitles will only be shown at the same time as a video frame... I don't think they can be changed mid-frame.

EDIT: go back to this thread for my additional comments.
