  1. I installed the Huffy Codec correctly but I can't use it in VirtualDub. It isn't listed as one of the compression codecs I can use when capturing.

VDub won't show it as available codec in capture mode if you have specified RGB format.
Try to set it to YUY2 - you'll get it in the list then.
(the same thing with DivX by the way)

That statement is untrue as i capture using 24bitRGB using HUFFY and VD theres no need to change to yuyv BTW there is a previous post about that problem on this forum which fixed the problem(For that particular person)but it was a while ago so details are sketchy but i you look youll find it also Virtualdubs forum has a bit about it seems your not the only one having problems

The codec is not available as default as you card is not in RGB capture mode. Or is using a YUV variant which is not directly supported you have to click Enable RGB Filtering in the MENU and you should have more codec choices. YOU they might have to click suggestion RGB mode is necessary in codec box.

Do you have the latest virtual dub? All this is explained on virtual dubs and huffyuv web site and help files.

  6. You did "install" Huffyuv in the VDub folder by Right Clicking the Huffyuv Setup File?
