Sony just released the 7c update for Sony Vegas and one of the changes was that they added export of video for iPod at 640x480 or whatever. More info: https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=316292

I've since tested it out more and found that you can't render to lower vertical resolutions like 640x352 for 16:9 widescreen. I mean you can, but iTunes won't synch them. Though they'd probably work fine if you used some other software to copy them to the iPod.
