  1. I'm having a problem playing VCDs on my DV-333. Everytime I put one in, it looks like it doesn't recognize the format.

I have tried to use Nero 5.5, VCDEasy with CDRDAO I have also tried changing a couple of settings in Nero but still no luck. If anyone has the same type of player and uses Nero to create VCDs, could you post what are all the settings you are using with it.

If anybody can help, it would be realy appreciated!

  3. my parents and my girlfriend have the pioneer dv-333. i've got pioneer 525 and everything has played on it the reason i bought the pioneer in the first place! vcd, svcd, xvcd, and i've used every type of media from those crappy comp usa cds to verbatims. the only problem i've ever had was w/ high speed cdrws. it looked all pixelated. try this, 1) try extracting the mpeg from bin/cue w/ vcd gear. then burning the vcd in nero at the lowest burn speed. if that doesnt work then 2) try different brands of blank cdrs/ cdrws. but, u should have no problem, cuz i've had nothing but success w/ pioneer. unless urs is broken.?

I'm using Nero with just the normal default VCD settings... Have used Fuji, Kodak Gold, Ricoh, Sony, Princo, CompUSA, Memorex R/W, etc... No problems with any of them.

Maybe you should try a lower burn speed? I usually use 8X on high-quality discs, and 4X on lower quality discs and it seems to work very well...

  5. I use Nero 5.5 to burn VCD's also and the only problems I have had so far is when I try and put menu's into the VCD. Then the player only seems to recognize it as an audio cd and will not play video. Otherwise I disable the compliance box and as long as the mpg is encoded with a vcd standard I have had no problems.

  6. I've got the same problem tonight, i just fixed it not too long ago, if your VCD was burned from an image file, try this, extract the image file with ISOBUSTER and then extract (M2F2 setting, i believe) the individual .dat files, then use Nero, to make a VCD, make sure each individual .dat file is recorded onto its own individual disc, try and see if this works!.
i got mine to work at least and its looking great! =)
