  1. I am trying to burn a mpeg file on a dvd-rw to play on my dvd player. The player works with all dvd's I have played others however this time when I used Nero 7.1 Premium I select make your own Video file and burn it. It says all is fine and ejects the dvd when finished and load it in the dvd player and nothing, I then put it back in the PC dvd player/burnner and say dvd is empty. Ides? Is there a better program for this?

Also what are the best programs to have to backup my dvd movies?

    Thanks Much

  3. Ok so this will burn the video file to the dvd and set it up as a dvd movie with the files? Or is there another program that will do this better than Nero? Also 16:9 ratio?

    Thanks

How about you start slowly and at the beginning.

What is it that you really want to do ?

If you have a video file and want to create a DVD, you need to encode the video correctly - see What is DVD (top left corner) for what is compliant for DVD - then you need to author it ready for burning.

ConvertXtoDVD is pretty good for a simple convert and author program - better than Nero IMO - however you could use NeroVision if it is just a one-off, as you already have it installed.

If you put the RW that you burned into your PC and open Windows Explorer, do you see anything on it at all ?
