When adding assets to the VTS layout, a 350mb .avi file will show taking 3.5 gb before I use autofit. I have not really had a issue making a dvd as I have made one dvd made up of half a season of a TV series (12 episodes) each .avi file was about 350mb which totaled 33.5 gb before autofit. Now i guess my question is why does it show up as so? I have searched thru the forums and I'm not sure if I follow some of what is being said about this subject. The size is a matter of duration not the actual size of the file? Then why do some files of the same duration and for that matter file size appear as a 3.5gb file and 2.25 gb file in the bar?
I do understand that a higher bitrate will give better quality and based on It would seem that maybe I should limit the number of files on a single DVD. But after watching the DVD I made with the 12 episodes, to tell you the truth, I could not tell any difference between watching the avi file and DVD.
Please give me feed back then if I still don't understand with my small brain I will ask some more questions.
