Hi,
I was looking around the internet to buy DVD-r and I eventually bought some off of a site called UK-DVDR. I bought 2 packs of Datawrite Red CMC Dye DVD-r (50pack), so I bought 100 DVD-r in total. Heres a link to them (notice how it has a Console and 5 Stars for burning):
http://www.ukdvdr.co.uk/shop/Datawrite-16x-DVD+R-CMC-Dye-Reprint-50-tub-pr-18896.html
I then tryed burning a PS2 game to them using DVD Decrypter at a speed of 1x, but well, one game I tryed it jumped like mad from the start, and the other, the first loading screen takes a few minutes to show up, then it works fine, but some points during the game, the game stalls or freezes. I burned another game also that so far seems to be working fine using thoses discs.
Also just to check I got a blank Tevion DVD-r and burned that game that was jumping like mad on the Datawrite DVD-r disc, and the game is working perfect, no stalls or nothing.
I was just wondering if theres something I can do to help fix the problem as sometimes ive noticed in DVD Decrypter when I choose max speed of 1x it sometimes during burning process goes up to 2.4x +. Or if its those discs I bought are crap and not good for PS2 games, which if is the case ill be really sad man, wasted all that money on them if I cant use them right.
I hope you can help me and thank you in advance.
Cheers, Rowan![]()

Oh dear ..... i buy disks from svp ...( http://www.svp.co.uk ) those disks you bought are available from svp too .... they have a customer ratimg of 2.5/10 and thats no surprise to me cmc are crap discs and definately not good for ps2 use.
You should also use dvd-r for ps2 and not +r as they work better (imho), go here http://svp.co.uk/products-list.php?pg=3 and scroll to the bottom of the page and look at the Taiyo Yuden disks (the 16x have a customer rating of 10/10 ... and for very good reason) ... taiyo yudens are the best you will get and work flawlessly for ps2 games .... they cost a bit more than those cheapies you bought but its worth the extra to have something reliable -
Datawrite Reds tend to be fakes and lower grade media.
If you get good results, go ahead and stay with them as long as they're good. If you get bad results, avoid them in the future.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Thanks, ive still got a pack of 50 thats not opened so ill post them on Ebay or something.
As for buying new discs, Verbatim and Yuben or something ive been told to get, and ive noticed there really pricey, but is there any other makes that will work neerly as good that I could get a bit cheaper?? I mean thoses Tevion discs I bought work fine with the Ps2 games but they were Pack of 20 for £6.99 so maybe they will be cheaper online.
Some links would be helpful.
Thanks
