In Cyberlink Power dvd the movie is cut off. It is cut off from all sides. I have tried different settings. I had power dvd 5, it installed 6 and then pro and it still cuts off the video. Any ideas ? Thanks

Please explain what you mean by "cut off". Compared to what? Which display?

Does this happen with ANY DVD (not just store bought, but home-made ones too)?

Does this happen with AVI files, or just DVDs?

It happens with any DVD. Store bought, homemade. I took one of the same dvds to work to try it. It works at work. I noticed when I played it in windows media player the ffdshow codec icon was in the lower right hand toolbar. I had installed ffdshow once on my PC and then removed it, and now I am wondering if I install it again when I get home if it will correct the problem.
Also avi files that I make through Vegas Movie Studiio won't play anymore in windows media player.
I dont know if other avi files work. I will try when I get home.
