Is Nero's H.264 codec the same spec as the one called for in the HD-DVD spec?
I thought it would be greate to re encode a DVD to H.264 and author as a HD-DVD on a DVD-R. It would make a great back-up method to encode a DVD9 to DVD5 and still have great quality, chapters and such. You would just need a HD-DVD to play. Nero could be the 1st step. (You would just want to keep the AC3 and not convert to AAC)
I have read that poeple who have the software to author HD-DVD have done this with HD MPEG2 video on a DVD-R
Maybe one day someone will make a DVD to HD-DVD tool to do this.

For the love of God, use hub/core labels on your Recordable Discs!

Only one set of AVC/H.264 specs. Just need to keep with whatever profile HD-DVD supports. Also you would need an authoring package.
