Hiya,
I have looked all over the web for an answer to this but havent yet found anything that 1 I understand, or 2 anything I would feel comfortable doing.
I assumed there was quite an easy answer however from what I have read, that doesnt seem to be the case.
I am using WinDVD Creator to make a DVD out of an AVI file I have stored on my PC. The AVI file is 340mb in size and runs for about 44 minutes. When I play this file through Windows Media Player it plays perfectly and the audio is in sync for the full duration of the AVI file.
However when I make a movie out of this file using WinDVD and burn it to disc, when watching it on my DVD player the audio sync is about 1.5 seconds out!!!!
I have tried removing the menu, changing the quality of burning from the best to medium quality and also recording it in NTSC as that is what the original AVI would have been recorded from but all have no effect whatsoever. I have used up 5 DVD discs and all are 1.5 seconds out with the audio (I have also used different branded discs)!!!
I would really really appreciate some help on this as it is really annoying![]()

I have read through alot of posts on this forum however all are mentioning taking out the audio etc etc. My audio is actually in sync when playing it through Windows Media Player, I just want to burn the programme on to disc so I can watch it on my TV!!!
Should I uninstall WinDVD Creator and cut my loses and buy a better burner?
Like I said any help would be so much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Peace

Ditch windvd creator and try ConvertXtoDVD (or the old free DivXtoDVD).

Hiya,
Thanks for the quick response it is most appreciated.
I have downloaded the ConvertXtoDVD version, and I am touching wood that I have done it right.
I dragged my AVI file over the main screen as advised and clicked on convert. A message appeared regarding a watermark being present in the middle of the image as it is a trial version. To be honest this doesnt bother me at the moment, as providing it works and the audio is in sync I will purchase the license for $35 and re-do it.
I presume that after the conversion is complete I should just burn it to disc, lets hope so.
Thanks again for your help, I will let you know how I get on.

No seriousley, thankyou very much for your recommendation. I converted the AVI file using ConvertXtoDVD and it automatically burnt to discI was absolutely chuffed to bits to see the audio had stayed in sync wooohoooo. There was the little thing of buying the license key but £24 isnt bad so I did it and are now burning the offical disc without the watermark in the middle of the screen.
Maybe the free one would have worked but hey £24 is a good price to pay so I can watch the latest lost episodes on my TV
Thanks again
