  1. I have a cartoon that won't play on my tv when I burn it from my pc to a CD (vcd format). The other cartoons play with no problems. It's in .mpg format.

I tried converting it to .avi format using AutoGK because it sometimes corrects problems with files but I received a message that says "Video Compression Error: The source image format is not acceptable (error code -2).

I tried running it through MOVAVI VideoSuite 3.1 to convert it but it gave me a message that said that it can't convert it.

I ran it through G-Spot but G-Spot said that everything was ok.

I also tried to re-encode it but it didn't help.

What is meant by "The source image foramt is not acceptable?" It plays with no problems on my pc.

Is there anything else I can do to repair this file so that I can back it up on a vcd?

Open it up with GSPOT to find out what you're really dealing with.

HartsVideo: Run the video through GSpot again (make sure you're using version 2.52 or greater) and post a screenshot of the resulting window here. Blank out the filename and path info, if you prefer.

  4. I opened it with GSpot earlier.

    Container says "It's MPEG-1 system stream << {1 vid, 1 aud}, "
    Status says "Codecs are installed."

In the "Proposed Codec Solution Test" box, everything was okay until #3. When I checked #3, the first line says "Failed to connect output pin 0x009334fc ("SRC Media") on Cartoon - Buzz Lightyear - 01 - The Torque Armada.mpg to input pin 0x0221afec ("Ligos MPEG Splitter"). Direct connect () failed. Error:0x80040207: There is no common media type between these pins."

Lines 2 and 4 are fine but lines 3 and 5 say "Failed to connect output pin . . ."

The cartoon will play on GSpot and it plays in my pc. It just doesn't play when it's burned.
