I have some AVI videos that I recorded with my digital camera. I want to post them on YouTube but some are larger than 100mb. If I convert them to a different format, will it make them smaller? If so what's a good program for this? And I don't want to pay for anything. Maybe something with a free trial?

Convert to avi xvid with for example AutoGK, set the desired output size and convert. Or convert to avi DivX with Dr.DivX.

OK. I downloaded Dr. DivX. But how do I use it? I looked for a guide but nothing said convert from AVI to avi Divx. I'm not very good with this stuff. I opened my video in it. In the Audio track box it has Audio Track 1. Is the audio seperate? Do I have to do something else with it? Please try and explain how to use this in simple terms.

    Here's some documentation for Dr.Divx: http://labs.divx.com/node/28

If your video is from a digital still camera, it may be MJPEG with PCM audio. You may be able to check the format with a program like Gspot 2.60. If you can open the video in Dr.Divx, you're half way there. The rest is just the settings. If you have no luck with Dr.Divx, you might try SUPER. With either program, you should be able to adjust the output size of the Divx file.

    And welcome to our forums.
