I'm trying to watch and listen to the first segment of a digital tape in Vegas from my Sony TRV 480 camera. I can hear some sound, but think it's coming from the camera. Where's the sound control on the Capture Video->video player?

On the Capture screen, do you have a device present under the Audio menu ?

Two menu items are greyed out. None relate to the camera. When I press Video Capture the tape plays but no sound.

Problem solved. I have several programs that schedule radio recording from the net, and from a hardware device called Shark Radio. Often the sound gets turned off when they record, and sometimes they fail to turn it back on. It was turned off. Thanks.

Should have continued with last message. It looks like I have to use Win XP sound controls to adjust the listening level, and it looks like I may be captureing the video. I just want to listen and watch to see what I want to capture.

If you have enable device control ticked in the capture preferences, then you should be able to control the camera using the controls on the capture screen without actually capturing video. Read the help files for details.
