He is (was) the owner of Wendy's fast food restaurants. Basically like a Burger King or a McDonalds, but he had other stuff like baked potates and chili and stuff like that. He was an innovator because he started the chain himself, and couldn't afford famous people for his commercials, so he starred in all the commercials himself... hense why most Americans would recognize his face. Also, he named his restaurants after his daughter's nickname, Wendy. Incodently, Wendy is a name that was invented in the story Peter Pan. The author wanted a creative name for the female character, so he made up the name Wendy. Now everyone knows a Wendy.

i love Wendy's Double Bacoon Cheese Burger nothing can beat that except a order of Miky D's French Fries
-
our local Windy's could win the "worst service" award.
The service is so slow, about 10 minutes to get food. And god forbid u want a sandwitch without sauce.
The staff r ignornat and when you say something about the service, they get upidy with u.
One guy waited like 15 minutes for a sandwitch and he complained and the manager almost cursed him out.
The ppl were at fault. -
i work in the food service business. i can honestly say that our stores have the best service you can get. we have focused on service for many years now and thats one thing that makes our stores successful. just to give you an idea, from the time a customer get to the menu board till the time they pull off. the average time is 2 minutes. many food places are in some seriuos trouble because of service. anyway, Wendy's will definatly miss Dave...............

Well, I feel sorry for his daughter and family, but i'm a Burger King person myself, nothing will budge me from it!
(well, almost nothing, my girlfriend won't let me munch too much, that doesn't mean I don't!)

You have obviously never been the Wendy's on the Rt50 access rd just before the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in Anne Arundel County MD.
-
zzyzzx, no i havn't been but i do get to some of the Wendy's on the other side of the tunnel in VA. and i can say that most of them suck also.......
-
Wendy's has the best spicy crispy chicken sandwich-very spicy. Dave was also a very nice, non-annoying spokesperson. I will miss seeing his down-to-earth mannerisms on the Wendy's commercials.
-
Wendy's on 301 Northbond in the town of Upper Marlboro.
Worest service ever.
Scared my sister right out of the store the customer-staff fighting. -
I'm more of a Sonic person myself. Love thier food but their customer service has gone downhill since they opened down the street from where I live.
Before that I was a Wendy's fan. Customer service at most of their locations was pretty good, except for lunch hour because where I worked there was only one Wendy's, and the only fast food at that, so wait time would take most of my lunch and they would constantly give me the wrong order or forget something.
Did you guys know that Dave used to work for KFC's Colonel Sanders and was one of the main reasons it's become the success it is today? If you've ever seen his bio you'll know that he came a long way. It is interesting like mikewg pointed out that he never used famous people in any of his commercials, at least none that I can remember. -
Sonic is a fast food chain, they serve it like they did back in the 50s and 60s where you drive up to a stall and order, and then a young hottie rollerblades up to your car with your order. They've been around for a while but mostly in the South and just recently have started opening up more franchises. The concept of serving food on wheels is what probably has kept it mostly in warm states.

You are totally correct BK has the Best Whooper in the world love it and the fries are amaseing....im going to go to BK rite Now

Sonic is by FAR the best fast food restaurant.
Their burgers aren't as greasy as other restaurants... it's more like a fresh burger. Instead of just fries... they have fries, tater tots, and onion rings (real ones, not the small ones like at Burger King). They have Coney Dogs, Chili Cheese Hotdogs, Chicken Sandwiches, Grilled Cheese Sandwiches... and an unlimited amount of sodas because they have like 20 syrups to mix into their drinks. My favorite is the Strawberry Limeade... they even put real strawberries and a real lime into the drink. Desserts are totally covered too... banana splits, Sonic Blasts (like a Blizzard or a McFlurry, but SOOOO much better), everything you can think of.
And to top it off, the food is delivered to your car by cute girls in roller skates. AND you don't have to tip them. It's the perfect restaurant. -
Ah mikewg, somone who knows some od the greatest pleasures of life. When Sonic opened down the street from where I lived I was going there just about every day.
Now I only go there about once a week because I gained about 40 pounds. Good food though. Strawberry Limades are something I haven't been able to go without though.
My regards to Dave Thomas, he will be missed. -
he he... speaking of good eating places, my holiday out east last year saw me dining at a place called "The No Hands Restaurant" The deal here is that you get all the food put into your mouth by two lovely ladies... your not allowed to move an inch, and if that aint enough they even do a gentle shoulder and back massage at the same time.

Stop posting this damn forum, Dave Thomas died like 1 week ago! It's over!!
-
Well the topic has changed and not talking about Dave Thomas anymore... though I have to agree. I should have never checked that box for "email when new message posted", my InBox is constantly filled with updates for this message. Not that I'm complaining, since I'm now planning my trip to Thailand to have women feed me.
-
I was just wondering, If I died 1 week ago whether I'd want to be forgotten by then... pretty short mourning period
-
Bilbogod, I already forgot who you were until you posted that message again. The only way I'll remember any of you is if you keep posting.
