not really an editing format - though by some thoughts - neither is HDV

Sounds Sweet!!
No tape, no disc, no friggin' mechanism to maintain. It would be nice if some of these units came with profiles for iPods and PSPs. Just Shoot & Sync. I posted a question a couple of months ago asking if anyone was using an MPEG-4 Camcorder and how they liked it, didn't get any responses then, Before they even hit the mainstream they'll probably be eclipsed by these HD/AVC Units! -
While it may not be that earthshaking, I must say I REALLY like the idea of recording to memory instead of disc or tape.
It makes for loading the video into editing that much easier and faster.
Sweet indeed.Whatever doesn't kill me, merely ticks me off. (Never again a Sony consumer.) -
Current P2 cards need to parallel 4x SD flash chips to get the bitrate for DVCProHD (100Mb/s) or DVCpro50 (50 Mb/s). By restricting recording to MPeg4 AVC @ 4 or 9Mb/s, maybe a single SD flash chip can be used. I need to dig into this.
But BJ_M is right, MPeg4 AVC is going to be a challenge to edit. -
well if theres editing sofware combine with it for that specific format it would be great

They used to say MPEG-2 was a pain to edit....
Panasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin' -
