Did McGuyver want too much money, or something?

More importantly, I assume that Stargate Atlantis has not been cancelled?

No, Atlantis lives. SG-1 has been on for what, 10 years? It had a good run. You know, I've never seen a single episode. For you, Garibaldi, I'll sign the petition. By the way, where is it? There's nothing in your sig that points to it.

It was kind of slacking off for almost a season but it's been getting good again season 9 & what they have released of 10!!!
The new storyline is good with a new threat that could go longer!!
It will suck if they stop now!!

    Cooper: SG-1 will go on
    Monday - August 21, 2006 | by Darren Sumner

Don't count Stargate SG-1 out just yet. Though SCI FI Channel has cancelled the long-running series (story), the show's producers are hard at work looking for a new outlet for the story to continue, executive producer Robert C. Cooper told GateWorld exclusively.

"As far as the future I can't comment yet because nothing has been confirmed," Cooper said. "What we want to emphasize is that the franchise is not dying. SG-1 will go on in some way. We're just not ready to announce how."

A formal announcement from the studio and the network is expected later this week.

Cooper also emphasizes that, though emotions are running high among Stargate fans who have just learned the news, it is important to keep the show's ratings strong throughout the remainder of its run on SCI FI. "What's most important is that fans don't take out their frustration with SCI FI by not watching," he said. "In fact, what they need to do is watch both SG-1 and Atlantis LIVE and make sure the ratings stay strong.

"That helps prove to other outlets that might be interested in SG-1 that the show is still as strong as we think it is."

Could Stargate SG-1 find its way to yet another network in 2007? Or might the SG-1 team be headed for a TV movie, mini-series, direct-to-video feature ... or the big screen? Stay with GateWorld for the latest developments.

No, more important. He wanted to spent time with his daughter.
He also wanted to dabble in other things.

And he was O'Neill longer than he was MacGyver.

Just never much of a sci-fi fan, as of late not much a fan of anything on TV.

I prefer to think of him as "****-knocker" from Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back.

  21. LOL .. well played, sir. Well played.

It is funny though, how sometimes doing one roll can pretty much define your career. There are several cases of this throughout hollywood.

David Hasselhoff will ALWAYS be Michael Knight.
Anyone from the cast of Dukes of Hazzard will ALWAYS be those characters.

The list goes on and on.

You know he was the "granite guy" on Home Improvement for a few episodes. He's the one who thought Tim and Jill were brother and sister and not husband and wife.

He was also in that made for tv nbc movie 10.5.

I always thought SG-1 looked very low budget. I also didn't think that Richard Dean Anderson made a very good Colonel Oneil. Guess I'm the one guy who likes the movie better.

Oh, by the way. If you want real results, don't waste your time with internet petitions and email campaigns, they never work. Send real letters. This is what gets their attention. In fact, the probably just filter out everything anyway.

  27. I've been reading articles on the net stating that MGM is already negotiating with another company in order to continue with it.
So it's most likely that there will be more seasons, just not with Sci-Fi.

  29. Thanks for everyone's help! Smear is right when he says send actual letters if you can, that's the best way to try and get through with them.

I don't know what happened to my sig, I've got it up-to-date now though.

I know that the show has been on for a long time but now they have a new cast and great new storyline, both of which have revitalized the show and essentially created a whole new show. There is still a lot left to be explored because of this

Amen. This show is not what it used to be. In the beginning it was kinda low-budget looking, but it's gotten much better. plus as Garibaldi says, it's essentially a whole new show. It can keep going for a long time more before it gets stale!
