I was using nero 7 after I formatted my computer. Then the 1st track skips. Then I uninstalled nero 7, and installed nero 6 and burned again. All the tracks works fine, except the last 3 tracks. I don't know the right word to describe how the tracks' playing sounds like. But they were very unclear, like they are not playing smoothly. (I used my cd player to play, then tried it with my computer, and it's the same result.) I thought it might be it's a bad burn, so I burned again, then it gave me the same result=the last 3 tracks arent playing smoothly. I googled the problem, and found some information about nero's mp3PRO.dll. I tried that, not still, nothing changed. So if anyone got the solution to this, please help me. Thank you.

Try burning at a much slower speed, like 16x, 12x or even 8x if you can and see if that helps.

  3. I was having the same problem with Nero 7 on my desktop. I went back to the old school to solve my problem. I converted my audio files back ino the wav format and burned at a much lower than maximun burn speed (I used 8x in my case). That solved my skipping cd problem.

There is only one fix and it has nothing to do with drive firmware, motherboard drivers, media type etc.

The problem is a single file, 'mp3PRO.dll' which you'll find in:

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\AudioPlugins\

The version that comes with Nero 7 is 2.0.5.0 and for whatever reason, its faulty. If you have Nero 6 still, on the CD goto the following directory:

    G:\Nero 6 Ultra Edition\Common Files\AudioPlugins\

(Where G:\ is your CD drive) and inside you'll find 'mp3PRO.dll' version 2.0.0.6. Copy this to:

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\AudioPlugins\

And overwrite (backup first just in case you need to revert back for whatever reason) the one already in there.

Guaranteed this will solve all your problems with audio CD's skipping. Its a temporary fix hopefully, till Nero can sort it properly.

I was talking about "changing mp3PRO.dll," but it didn't help. So any other ways that help solve my problem? Now, I couldn't burn any audio cds...

Yes I was having the same problem with Nero 7 too, I would burn even at the lowest speed and it still would make the tracks skip which was very annoying so what I did was uninstalled Nero 7 and installed the older version I had and everything works fine now

I uninstalled nero 7 and installed nero 6, but still don't work. I think I'll change from nero to using alcohol 120%.

I have found that fixes the problem 99% of the time,it has something to do with the Nero decoder.

Nero finally fixed this as of version 7.2.7.0.
