Hello,
I have a DVR with S-video out and component out (red/white/yellow). I also have a video card capable of ViVo(Video In/Video Out) with S-video and component connections. Do I need a TV tuner card if my video card is capable of receiving signal from my DVR?

No tuner is necessary if you want to capture video from your DVR's svideo out. Simply connect the DVR svideo out to the VIVO svideo in, connect the DVR audio out to your PC audio line-in, start the PC capture app (I recommend VirtualVcr) and start the DVR playback, and you're on your way.
BTW, you'll need to have the WMD driver installed for your VIVO card, and properly set device and capture setting in the capture app for everything to work right. Be patient, experiment and Good Luck.Usually long gone and forgotten -
Thx for the information. I installed the WDM drivers but when I use component video(yellow connection) from the DVR to the ViVo card, I get no video signal detected. I am going to get an s-video cable instead and hope that works.

If it's convenient, you might want to try connecting that yellow composite cable from the DVR to a TV just to confirm it's the DVR's problem. If it is, a look at it's owner's manual may be worth while. Sorry about the WDM typo, I thought it looked a little weird.
