I've seen several references here to capturing VHS on a camcorder.
Can anyone tell me how to go about capturing with a camcorder if you have a European DV camera that came with the analog record function disabled? I bought the "widget" that enables recording, but the record function only seems to be accessible through capture software (no buttons on the camcorder).
Any help much appreciated!

I'm at work and I don't remember the precise model number.
It's a SONY TRV***e, a Digital8 model. -
It's a Sony TRV325e (PAL).
I've tried capturing from a VCR. PAL tapes capture fine, and a good signal gets sent through the Firewire to my capture program (VideoFactory). With NTSC tapes I get audio but no video. (Both play OK on my TV.)
I'm confused. From reading around, I thought you had to disable DV-in to use the camcorder as a D/A convertor, but that's exactly what I'm getting for PAL tapes with DV-in enabled.
The main collection of tapes I want to edit is NTSC.
